Halifax Library, Yorkshire

I’ll be back in my native West Riding on October 16 for an evening engagement at Halifax Library as part of the Calderdale Readers’ and Writers’ Festival. I’ll be talking about the new Costa novel, Dante’s Numbers. More details from Calderdale Libraries. The event is at 7.30pm at the Akroyd Library, Bankfield Museum.

  1. I had the pleasure of attending this last night & I really enjoyed it!
David was lovely and more than willing to chat to all the guests. Bring on Harrogate 2009!

  2. Hi Vanessa. Thanks for coming (all the way from Doncaster?) I’m glad you enjoyed the event and hope I didn’t witter on too much. What a beautiful museum too - like being in a posh Italian villa. Halifax is quite a place. I had the full Yorkshire breakfast, including black pudding, before I left too, so I don’t think I will be moving much further than my desk for a while.

I’m not aware of any invitation to Harrogate next year though that shouldn’t stop you - it’s a fantastic event. My next confirmed event in Yorkshire is at the Scarborough Literature Festival where I’ll be appearing at a panel on April 24 at 12 noon with some other writers, yet to be announced. Will be nice to have a trip to the seaside, and the place where I had my first job.
    Best
    David

PS. I think my events are going to be listed on Facebook soon so if you’d like to receive news of them there just add me as a friend - same goes for anyone here.
